Now enrolling students 14 through 18 years old for the Chicago Filmmakers 2008 Digital Animation Teen Summer Camp. This camp is designed for teens who want to learn the fundamental skills of animation and collaborate on animated projects utilizing traditional, experimental, and computer-based techniques. Stop-motion methods will be employed to animate drawings, cutouts, three-dimensional objects, and live actors. Students will work hands-on to create projects and acquire the foundational skills common to animators in the various fields of entertainment, graphic design, and fine arts. Comfort with drawing will be helpful but is not required. The camp closes with a public screening to showcase the work for friends and family, and each student receives a DVD copy of all projects completed in the workshop.
