Freedom Woods Equestrian Center is located in Morton Grove, Illinois minutes from I94 and about 15 miles north of downtown Chicago. Although conveniently located near Chicago we also offer quiet and seclusion. Freedom Woods is located in the forest preserve and away from busy streets.

Freedom Woods offers instruction primarily in the areas of hunt seat, jumping and dressage at all levels and class sizes. There are approximately 25 school horses and barn help available at all times for beginner and intermediate lessons. Additionally, Freedom Woods hosts a variety of other activities including Summer Camps, Schooling Horse Shows, Birthday Parties, Boy/Girl Scouts, Park Districts and more.

This year we’re offering 5 day camps throughout the summer! Group sizes are limited to only 5 campers maximum for a personalized learning experience. Each camper is assigned to his own horse or pony for the week! Your child will learn Grooming , Saddling and Arena Riding with a good mixture of fun and education by our trained instructors. Our Summer Camp program, is for children 8 years and older and focuses on building confidence, strong character, and positive relationships within our safe, fun, and caring environment.

This year our program is divided into two sessions, Morning and Afternoon, and will be designated by level.

Morning session (Levels 1 and 2 ) 8:30am – noon
Afternoon session (Levels 3 and 4) 12:30 – 4:00pm
