Learning new languages is fun! Hamline Univeristy's Summer Language Institute is a day camp offering the following languages: Chinese | French | German | Hmong | Spanish The Summer Language Institute provides campers the chance to learn from native or near-native speakers of their chosen language. Through games and sports, skits, arts and crafts, field trips, and service learning projects our campers will improve their language skills in a unique, enriching, and fun environment while becoming locally engaged and globally connected. During camp, our instructors and group leaders, who represent a combination of both native and near-native speakers, aim to speak 80 - 100% of the time in the target language, subject to the age and language proficiency of the students. We seek to find a healthy balance between creating a fun, inspiring, and challenging environment. Campers will learn in age appropriate groups and through language focused learning experiences. One Language Instructor and two highly proficient Group Leaders will work with each group of ten campers. Goals: Improve language skills Inspire and create a sense of excitement in our campers about learning a forgein language Expose a child to different cultures Foster a greater sense of self-confidence and team spirit in each camper Cost for any two week session: $950 Early Bird Special: $150 off when you register before March 24, 2008...
