InterRhythm Arts is a program intended to provide students with a strong platform of technique, but also give them a chance to learn choreographic tools and work with their peers to create student driven pieces. With the two week camp dancers will get the chance to really focus on learning new skills during the first week. The second week allows dancers to combine their prior knowledge with the new knowledge they have gained and choreograph a student piece for our final show. When not dancing dancers will have the opportunity to relax, connect with new friends, and participate in activities such as: horseback riding, swimming, paintbal, games, etc... We want the dancers to enjoy their time here while celebrating a common love for dance.
The schedule of classes (core classes are one hour and a half hour while choreography and elective classes are one hour and 15 minutes). Dancers will be divided into various groups so that the faculty can work closely with classes of reasonable size. InterRhythm Arts Dance Camp faculty are the sole judges of class placement. Remember - dancers who come to IRA come from a multitude of dance backgrounds, so we encourage students to celebrate that they are all part of a unique group! The requirement of four rigorous classes per day and evening classes will be demanding so please remember that strength and stamina are imperative. We are confident that with the staff and faculty of IRA Dance Camp, campers will an enjoyable summer experience with us.
