International Summer Dance is a comprehensive dance program for students ages ten and older. The curriculum includes daily technique classes in ballet, jazz and modern dance supplemented with classes in pointe and variations, pas de deux, male technique, tap, acting, music for dancers, Pilates, and yoga. Classes are taught in ten state-of-the-art, air-conditioned studios equipped with Marley-covered sprung floors, and full-range sound systems. Under the guidance of nationally recognized teaching artists, students rehearse daily for two performances to be held at the Rockwell Theatre in the prestigious Pittsburgh Playhouse.
