Become a word detective! By learning how Latin, Greek, and Old English languages have influenced the development of English, students will strengthen their word-sleuth skills and begin to uncover the meaning of a variety of words and their parts. Students will learn several strategies to improve their spelling and use of a dictionary and thesaurus. No longer seen as a chore, spelling will become a treasure-hunt for patterns and meaning. Strong word detective skills allow students to uncover the rich history of words and develop a diverse vocabulary. Fees: $250 + $50 materials.
