The experiences for participants are numerous and will start out with hiking to the top of Cherokee Mountain, while learning how to identify and record the physical features of the land. They will learn how to track animals and to cast the tracks. By the end of the week, participants will have pictures of animals, a notebook of their record keeping, and an outdoor experience they will never forget. The skills they will have learned include: map reading, outdoor etiquette, hiking efficacy, land preservation, field observation, protection of wildlife, tracking animals and biomes of the Ranch.
