Rock Kamp at G-Star is open to students ages 10 - 16 who have 6 months or more playing/study experience. The 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. day camp is geared towards young musicians who want to have performance experience and grow musically everyday with students their own age. Many young musicians never have the opportunity to experience live performance and are left to play at home for themselves. Rock Kamp is ideal for aspiring musicians who don't want to settle for that, who want something more from their music, who don't want to look back and think "I wonder what would have happened if..." Rock Kamp encompasses a variety of music genres - not just rock - and provides an opportunity to compare and explore everything from classic rock, blues and country to alternative and R&B. Our dedicated staff members represent decades of "hands on, live performance and recording industry experience and thoroughly enjoy sharing what they have learned!
Campers are introduced to: instrument technique, rock music history, general music theory, vocal performance, band member dynamics, song writing, graphic design fundamentals, fundamentals of photography, developing teamwork and how to prepare for a performance. Summer Rock Camp accepts 30 campers per 2 week session.
