Sherwood Forest Archery Day Camp
Newmarket, Ontario
Canada
L3Y 4W1
This camp is designed to provide outdoor activities to relive the experience of Robin Hood and his jolly men. The main purpose is to provide fun and games, but the intention is for the participants to also have an educational experience. While a high priority is placed on the sport of archery, learning some of the skills Robin Hood required to survive and get around in the forest is part of the activities.
During the archery part the youths will be taught the handling of bows and arrows. With safety as the highest priority, shooting at targets at various distances, proper etiquette, knowledge on equipment and tournament rules are taught in this segment. Practice by way of many archery games will result in all the youths to achieve a reasonable knowledge about the sport. A field and 3-D archery tournament on the last day will provide the opportunity to show off their learned skills.
