Summer Voice Camp
Voice Camps provide aspiring singers from beginner to intermediate level with the opportunity to explore their talents and abilities in a fun, creative way by enhancing their existing strengths and zoning in on areas which may need improvement.
Over the course of our week-long camps, students will:
Get a broad overview of how the singing voice works
Learn basics about breathing and breath support/control
Learn basics about tone production and resonance
Learn basics about performing and learn how to deal with performance related anxiety
Get practical tips about selecting appropriate songs
Get practical tips about learning songs and memorization strategies
Learn basic musical ability by understanding key signatures, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, etc...
Currently, all camps are taught in the Austin area by Amy E. Mathews-Muttwill, Voice Teacher/Classical Singer.
The teacher will select an age/level-appropriate piece for the student to work on and the student may bring in their own selections with teacher approval.
On the last day of camp, students will sing their selected song in a solo recital for friends and family to enjoy!
