UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center is again looking forward to half-day Summer Horse Camp! Camp is an excellent opportunity for children to learn riding skills, as well as hands-on horsemanship, and horse care. UpReach camp is an integrated experience designed for children with beginner to intermediate riding skills and is suggested for ages 6-12. It provides campers a chance to bond over their common love of horses and the desire to learn more. UpReach horse camp offers the benefits of a small class size, NARHA certified professional instructors, and safe, well-trained horses. Each camp day includes a one-hour small-group riding lesson, in which campers also learn how to groom and tack their horse. Unmounted camp activities focus on increasing campers’ knowledge of daily and long term care of horses, as well as developing horsemanship skills. Examples include: learning horse body parts and breeds, barn management, equine first aid, nutrition, and demonstrations by individuals working in the horse industry.
