Challenge is a five-week summer program for elementary students with
mild to moderate learning or language disabilities. The program
focuses on maintenance of academic skills, instruction in new
strategies to succeed in school, and the continuing development of
self-esteem.
Each summer, the school enrolls 65 to 70 students. Students are
grouped into classes of approximately 10 students per class based on
age, grade, and social/emotional skill level. Each class is taught by
credentialed teachers with expertise in the area of learning
disabilities.
Challenge also teaches its graduates in a well-regarded program that
