McDonald Ranch offers unique, comprehensive programs designed to teach life skills such as carpentry, cooking, small engine mechanics (go-carting), photography, lapidary, art, animal husbandry including horseback riding and complete care. Programs are offered fulltime in summer day camp and after school for a year-around, progressive involvement throughout elementary and middle school years. Our equestriam program teaches the basics of horsemanship starting with preparation, safety and reining then moving through a walk, trot, canter with the attainment of a balanced seat. Individual goals are set for participants such as the attainment of their own horse, becoming a junior trainer in our summer camp, sponsoring their own horse or other related goals.
