The Burke Museum offers an archaeology camp where students participate in a mock site excavation. Campers learn all the basics of how archaeologists bring the past alive as they excavate, photograph, map, and analyze their discoveries. In the paleontology program students will learn about new dinosaur discoveries from the polar regions. Hands-on activities and experiments will help campers reconstruct the fascinating worlds and ultimate extinction of these great animals....

On day one, the full group will work to create a science fiction narrative. A tour of the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame will serve to inspire ideas for the narrative. Campers will then work in one of the three teams to interpret and transform the science fiction story into one of three media formats: 1) comics (sequential art, creative writing, inking); 2) dramatic arts; or 3) video game story design and animation....
