Kids will develop and write their own personal Stand-Up routine and learn improv. They will learn acting and on-camera auditioning techniques for sitcoms and commercials. In our city of tall buildings and busy streets, where can people rest and play for free? Participants in this course will begin to develop an understanding of the role of public space in the city. Through site visits, art installation activities, and visits from artists, participants will build a visual and spatial vocabulary to create their own scale model for a site specific public installation.

The Center for Architecture’s neighborhood has a lively story to tell, both past and present. Participants will learn about the local community of Greenwich Village by researching notable buildings and sites and interviewing people of all ages. The stories, sounds and images we collect will be incorporated into a podcast walking tour for families to enjoy any time of the year.
